DESCRIPTION:
CWH Underground has discovered a vulnerability in BrewBlogger, which
can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection
attacks.
Input passed via the "username" parameter to the "authenticateUser()"
function in includes/authentication.inc.php is not properly sanitised
before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate
SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation allows e.g. logging in as administrator
without valid administrator credentials, but requires that
"magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 2.1.0.1. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
