Indian armyman faces action for carrying secret files in laptop Par Hack In The BoxLe [2008-11-17] à 02:32:30
Présentation : A colonel from the armoured corps is in serious trouble after a security check led to the discovery of a classified presentation on his personal laptop while he was posted in the Western Army Command (WAC), which has its HQ at Chandimandir. Disciplinary proceedings are now being initiated against the Colonel, now posted at the Army HQ in New Delhi, for the episode which took place three months ago, after a court of inquiry held him prima facie guilty for the security lapse. The presentation found on the officer's laptop dealt with main-battle tanks and special equipment. "But there was no security breach," said an officer. Interestingly, "cyber-security checks" have been beefed up at WAC after Pakistan's intelligence agencies tried to hack into its computer network recently. As reported by TOI earlier, the Army is bolstering "cybersecurity" of its information networks right down to the level of divisions, which are basically field formations with over 15,000 troops.
